Delta Junction, known as the “Friendly Frontier of Alaska”, is an unincorporated area with no property, sales or state income taxes and sits at the end of the Alaska Highway in Interior Alaska.
Fairbanks is 100 miles to the northwest on the Richardson Highway, Valdez is 300 miles south on the Richardson Highway, and Anchorage is 380 miles southwest through the Alaska Range off the Richardson and Glenn Highways.
The greater Delta Junction area has approximately 5,000 residents, a small community airport, a medical facility, a variety of basic services and businesses and outstanding outdoor recreational opportunities and abundant game animals including dall sheep, moose, caribou, bear and a wild herd of buffalo (draw hunt).
Surrounded by the Granite Mountains, the Alaska Range and myriad of lakes and rivers, Delta Junction is a sportsman’s paradise. Hunting and fishing opportunities abound, as well as, other recreational pursuits such as boating, hiking, snowmaching, fourwheeling , horse back riding, cross-country skiing, snow-shoeing and sightseeing.
