The “elegant rustic” interior of the beautifully hand crafted custom home begins with the stunning hand peeled fire killed 12” diameter Montana Douglas Fir.  Harvested as standing dry timbers, the clear oiled logs are massive and naturally straight with dark fire burnished areas richly pigmented natural browns and reds and numerous hand knifed knobs and knots.  The fire killed logs add a unique warmth and character to each room of the house.

The “elegant rustic” atmosphere continues through a towering two story tongue and groove cathedral ceiling, chinked log exterior walls, tongue and groove interior walls, massive timber beams, sawn board trim and half log stairs with hand peeled balusters and railings.

The home features a master suite with a full bathroom and double sinks on the first floor.  A long hallway leads from the front door past a guest half bathroom and master suite to the open cathedral ceiling living room and dining area at the back of the house.  The living room has a corner oil stove set on rock hearth and large triple paned windows that look out onto the back deck, the Tanana River and Blue Creek.
The ceiling has 7” of sprayed foam and all interior walls are insulated to an R-19 with double fire blocking.  There is a built-in central vacuum system.

Adjacent to the living room is the dining area with views of the river, airstrip and mountains.  The dining area with its antique wagon wheel chandelier connects to an open kitchen with laminate wood floors, stainless range, a pass through wall and a sink window with airstrip and mountain views.  A laundry room, large pantry and side door with landing connect to the kitchen.

The open second story loft has a bedroom area and a half bathroom with a large enclosed storage area.  The loft leads to the front balcony is connected to a rear balcony via a railed bridge.  Views from the front balcony included the lush forest, airstrip, hangar and mountains; views from the back balcony include the back deck, the Tanana River and Blue Creek.

The partially finished daylight basement has in-floor radiant heat, covered egress window openings, plumbing connections and most fixtures (including a jetted tub) for an additional full bathroom.  The basement has ample room for several more bedrooms or a spacious den/game room and contains a mechanical/boiler room, well and a back up Toyo stove.
